Bunnies

Lots of new little bunnies under the trees right now.
Since the hawk is gone the population of rabbits and doves has expanded.
I've got to call this one Fiver!

Order

Okay... If I was obsesive compulsive the fruit would be washed, the tags would be off and the first bottle of water would be turned a bit to the right. Just making room for potato salad!!
Have a Happy Holiday!!

Stuff

I finally went today and got some flowers for my pots. It is too hot to work outside today so I will wait until tomorrow to create my masterpieces. Today is almost 90 and I'm not used to that yet. Tomorrow will be in the 70's.
The planting is done in the fields, lots of dust this weekend and a surprise visitor.. Hmmm.

Lets see... Where was I?
Ballycastle, and a lovely B&B on the sea. The B&B was located on a little knoll and for the life of me I couldnt figure out how to get up there??? We spotted a paved path with rocks around it but no road and decided it was an irish thing... Very narrow road... Things like this happen when you drive all day on the wrong side of the road and get weary. Okay the path was NOT a road but we didnt know that until we heard the little Fiat squeal in in the voice of the Gingerbread cookie man from Shreck or Mr. Bill (BTW are they related?) "Ohhhh Not my right front fender!!" We pulled the crunchy dented fender off the wheel and finally found the road.
A nice comfey rest awaited.

Lightning

Nature has provided. It only took about 50 shots to catch lightning. It doesn't even look real but it is!!

This was taken a few minutes ago. The storm has passed.

Ireland

Okay... I have not been taking any pictures lately. Haven't had a chance to get outside I've been so busy and nature hasn't dropped anything at my doorstep so I'm going to post some pictures from Ireland.
My sister Laura and I drove the island twice, the second time we did a complete circle.

Before I get started though you need to know the Fiat did not come out of this well.
Although I have no actual pictures of the carnage I will document the slow and torturous demise of the Fiat as I go along.

After a night in Dublin we headed up to Belfast to take a Black Cab Tour
This is what they call a Black Cab in Belfast
So far the Fiat is safe in a car park.

I am not political, just showing the sites. There are murals all over Belfast like these.

Then on to Larne and then a trip up the Antrim coast the next morning.
I have to say it was one of the most beautiful drives I have ever taken.

To be continued...

Recouperation

My feet hurt, my back hurts but that is nothing! The good part is...

Yesterday about 400 volunteers packed 106,000 meals for starving children. The past week has been a whirlwind of last minute planning, fundraising and just plain worry since we were short 100 volunteers and a good sum of $$ to reach our goals. Some pretty amazing people came to the forefront to make this all happen and make it a success. I don't have many pictures because I was too busy filling in the gaps for the shortage of people but we made it. Our goal was to pack 100,000 meals. We did it!!!
It's amazing to see, but there is always that special group of people that just pour themselves into the hard work to make things happen.

Now I have to go see the Mom, she will be 89 this year.
Will catch up on my blogging later this week.

My Dead Tree

This is the lot before the house was built. You will see many pictures of that tree if you read this blog. It is my Serengeti tree and is now not long for this world. I have no idea what kind of tree it really is but the small part of it that still lives has little white blooms on it this time of year.
This tree is just as beautiful dead as it was alive but I notice the right side is beginiing to lean.

I built this place in Autumn of 2006 Wow time flies!

The farmer behind me and his family have big celebrations on Memorial Day and Labor Day. Each with a large bonfire. They gather the dead trees on the property for that purpose and I have a feeling my Serengeti tree will be part of the festivities this year. I'm going to miss it.
You'll notice also that the aborvites are not yet planted. They grew really fast.

I had to take this through the screen or they would all fly away, plus kitty was at my feet.

There is never a shortage of sky shots
I've come to terms with the power lines telling myself they add charecter

Simple little house with a million $$ view!!

Plan B

Well it looks like Naples is out and Marco Island is in for our event. Turns out the hotel I picked is in bankruptcy. Bummer.

Tides out!

It will be fine, this is a nice place too.
