His Guidance

Mom is still with us but barely. Yes, this is hard, and painful but there is something else...
There is something very intimate and spiritual about this experience for my sister and I.
The turning and bathing and changing.
The little drops of water from a dropper, the gentle wiping of her eyes.
Brushing her hair.
The caresses and comforting, the prayers.
That little glint of appreciation in her eyes. A little sqeeze of the hand.
Moments of recognition.
Knowing if she opens her eyes she will see someone who loves her, right there.
Knowing she is not in pain and whispering to her that it's okay to let go.
Jesus is waiting.

I don't wish to make anyone sad. I just needed to share that this is not all bad.
If you are ever faced with this situation know it is bearable and can be cherished.

Checking In

We've had a lot of rain.

The result being

Everything is very lush and green.
I found these cheerful sunflowers at the nursery
and had to have them.

They cheer what would otherwise be pretty gloomy.

Ah... I see the feeders are empty again,
did I mention the birds here have snouts.

Back Again

It's me, Abby

I had tuna from a can and got a new toy mouse.
Mommy is busy so I hid behind the sofa and bit the mouses tail off.

We just want to say hi

Stormy Weather ~ Photo Challenge

It's been a whirlwind around here but
I could not miss this months photo
challenge hosted by Donna at
Cottage Days and Journeys
The subject is Stormy Weather

These photos have all been published before

but they are worth a second showing

The photo above is not black and white
That's how dark it was.

I adjusted the mid-tones in all of these to bring out the colors.
All of these except #3 are looking east near sunset out my window.

There is something about the play of light at that time of day that colors the clouds these beautiful colors.
I'll be back tonight to check out all of your beautiful photos.

A Personal Photo Challenge

I am loving this spring

It got hot for a bit but now it is breezy and cool.
I've been pretty busy running from the
North Burbs to the South Burbs on a pretty regular basis.
In Chicago that is over 60 miles.
I've been reading your posts and looking at your wonderful pictures.
Just not enough time to comment and I'm not in the mindset for posting much, but I'm here.

Mom is pretty stable right now. Nothing new.
