Autumn

And so it begins

The sky was beautiful yesterday.
Not much in the way of color yet except for these bright Maples.

Still practicing with the new lens.
Working hard on depth of field and focus.
Tricky.

The weather here has been glorious and I'm on my way outside!
Have a great day!

Good Fences ~ I'm Late!

Another fly by shooting from last weekend.

These ladies got under the tree to get out of the rain.

The Dance

I drove up to the Apple Orchards yesterday and mosey'd on down a few side roads.
It was raining, there was no place to pull over,
 and
there was a car coming up behind me.
I had to hurry.

Plus, these guys were pretty far away.
Nevertheless, it is not about the focus, it is about
"The Dance"

Have a Great Day!

Something New

A lovely little Amazon box arrived this week
and inside a wonderful new wide angle zoom lens.
If you recall, the kit lens went kaput.
Soooo... I upgraded just a bit.
My good bud Donna (Cottage Days and Journeys) took the time to research and find this treasure for me.
Thank you my dear friend!!

I can go from this...

To this...

To this...

All in one swoop, standing in the same place.
Perfect for an "on the fly" shutterbug like me.
This is gonna be fun!!

For the curious it is a Sigma 18-250mm 4/3.5-6.3 DC Macro
Very affordable and not too heavy.

Movement

Holy Cow!! I almost missed the Challenge this month.
I was totally unmotivated.
I didn't even think of water until I started looking at all your wonderful contributions!
So I dug into the archives and here is some of my favorite movement.

Seaside, Palm Beach Florida

Lake Michigan in early winter.
If you look closely you can see a glimpse of the Chicago skyline in the distance.

Lake Michigan again

All taken with my Canon Rebel on Auto. (Shame on me!!)
This was before I was inspired to explore F-stops by Donna at

A Personal Photo Challenge

Joy

I've had this picture sitting on my desktop for a few weeks
A reflection of a joyous moment.
It was taken with an old point and shoot in Zihuantanejo Mexico

Stand back and look out that window!
God is good!

Good Fences

This is a fence along a canal in Ireland

I don't think I ever saw chain link there.

The Best Laid Plans

When I was younger we used to boat on Lake Michigan frequently.
Our boat was small so weather was a big factor.
We would get the wave report and then set off for a day.

Now this kind of weather is unheard of in August!!

I was all prepared for a big photo op and look what happened.
Nevertheless I do love sailing and motor boats.

The inland lakes near me are overcrowded with idiots so I avoid them.
This was a fun ride.
