Memories

Yesterday
We celebrated Moms 89th birthday.

She is becoming frail and is getting
a bit loopy, but I feel lucky that she is still with us.

She insisted on buying those ugly glasses and wearing
that silly wig instead of her pretty silver hair.
I guess you have to be inside her head to get that part.

Daughters, neices and nephews came from North Carolina,
California, Ohio and Texas to be with their mom/gram.
Good!

I truly hope we get to celebrate 90
Love you Mommy!

Understanding

My heart is breaking for the loved ones of those children and adults that died today.
There are no words, all I can do is pray.
Dear Jesus, put a comforting hand on the hearts of those whose
lives have been shattered by this horrible act of violence.

Comfort them
Give them strength
Be their guiding Light

Question to my blogger buds...
If I enable email, does that mean anyone can see my email address
or just those I follow or where I make comments?
I can't seem to find a clear answer online.

A bit of Ireland

One of the prettiest places in Ireland (weather permitting) is the Dingle Peninsula.
These are some shots taken on my most recent trip.
Every time I look at these I want to go back!!

Cloudy and rainy is not uncommon, makes for lots of rainbows.

Speachless

Almost there, and...

The sun came out!
This vista is just stunning. A photo can't capture it.

Some whimsy in the town of Dingle

This was outside a small art shop

I think they are all Leprechaun's or Hobbits
The delightful colors they use!

Sunday

Sunday was a hazy 60 deg day

I took a ride to Lake Zurich, not far from me,

Got there just in time for a nice golden sunset

I didn't adjust the color here, this is just how it looked.
I guess it was the haze that made it all look gold.

This lake is close to where I shop on Rt 12
so off to Walmart!

Footnote: On my computer at home these shots are golden.
At work they look a bit pink.
I am going to trust the high end monitor at home and hope you see that.
I would be interested in knowing if you see gold or pink.

Shapes

You guys all know how I love odd shapes.
Isn't it amazing how trees grow, how they reach?
I love tree shapes almost as much as I love bug wings!

So, I took my Macro lens out for a spin since the
Wide Angle Zoom is smashed.
Consoled myself with a ride to a nearby lake/park
and took these.
The Oak Trees are stunning without leaves.
Funny thing about these is that the lens was pointed up.
When I pointed straight I got a yellow sunset.
I'll post those tomorrow.

Comfort

It's time for a cat picture

Cross eyed little cutie
Always brings joy!

Special thanks to Donna at Cottage Days and Journeys for putting me on to a quality used camera outlet.
I found just what I was looking for at a good price.
