I'm still here

So sorry to those who were alarmed by my long absence.
Thanks for the emails!

I am fine, just not in a blogging mood.
I'll be back.
I do enjoy blogging, but right now I have so much occupying my my time and my mind that I just don't have the bandwidth to keep up with blogging.

Nothing earthshaking.
I'm fine.

Still Kicking!

For the last three weeks I have been so ill.
I will spare you the details.
I have been going to work but come home exhausted and have
done nothing but a small bit of dusting.

I have been reading all the blogs and looking at all your wonderful pictures but don't even have the energy to comment.

So this morning when I woke up feeling like a human bean again I started looking for a photo to post.
Holy cow! there is not much in my "acceptable to post" folder.
I just realized my camera has been getting very dusty this year.
Anyway.
I tried to get a better shot of the little yellow but every time I got anywhere into position he flew away.
There have been some really pretty sunrises lately.

I can't believe it is July already. I missed June altogether.

Sniffels

My sweet Pie and I are both under the weather.
 Cough, cough, sniff, sniff!

Just stopped by to say Hi.

Rain

I know I've been away too long but I am so so busy.
Between working extra hours, (that's gonna have to stop)
and oh so much fun watching the Black Hawks playing hockey.
I just haven't had much extra time.

It has been quite rainy here.

We seem to get a couple of dry days during the week and then it rains all weekend. Phooey!

These were taken just after one of the rain showers

You should see he weeds!! OMG!

Sunday the last day of May

Well, it stopped raining for a bit.

Only a few weeks from summer and it is finally spring here
Today it is a whopping 55 deg

This dwarf Spirea is blooming nicely around my deck

The Columbine is blooming

And my precious Chives!

I have had these chives since 1993, planted them at two houses and brought a bit of them here in a pot in 2006.
They come back every year faithfully
I think its time I give this plant a bit more growing room and find a spot to put them in the ground.
There is a spot on the sunny side of the house near the Columbine that should suit this plant just fine.
Wow, how time flies. I can't believe I have been here almost 9 years.
It seems like yesterday!!

A dry day!

Yes!
In search of... A dry day.

It's has been raining pretty much non stop for a week now.
I would love to have a dry day to get these little pretties in the ground
The Dahlia was a vivid red when I bought it.
Don't know much about Dahlia's but this one sure faded.

I planted some Zinnia seeds this year. I hope they succeed but in the meantime I have this one.
Have a great weekend!

A special kitty

My sweet little Pie has been shedding excessively this past year. Needless to say I attributed the hairball honking to the shedding. WRONG!
I noticed a lot of honking and no hair balls...
Turns out my little sweetie has asthma! Whoda thunk it. I feel terrible I didn't get her to the vet sooner. She is on prednisone to clear her little lungs and then she is going to get a little kitty nebulizer. OMG!
She is such a good girl and a good sport with the medication.

She seems to be improving but I can tell she is still not okay.
As long as she is eating and trying to play I will not go overboard fretting.
I love her so much!

A Holiday Weekend

I took Friday off and
It was a beautiful warm sunny day.
I pulled dug weeds a good part of the day.

Finished with some pots on the front porch
I'm going to hang the fern but it needs to be separated first
It has completely outgrown the pot it is in.

There used to be a small evergreen tree here.
It turned brown and I had it removed.
I couldn't think of what to do with this corner but
I think the rose turned out nice.

Found this Clematis at the nursery. I couldn't resist.
I am hoping it will cascade along the front porch railing.

And these little pretties are waiting for a home.
As soon as the horrible aches and pains caused by weeding and digging subside.
Anyway, it's raining. I get a break inside cleaning up cat hair.

Have a wonderful weekend.

God bless our fallen hero's.
