Oh boy do I need practice with Macro Photography!!!
This may not be the most beautiful shot you have ever seen but it is mighty beautiful to me.
My faithful chives sprouting there little snouts. Yeah!!!
And just a few inches from those chives a leaf that hung on to the bush
all through this brutal winter we had.
Thanks To Donna for hosting
bright, fresh green and beautiful brown with bokeh. lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is one tough little leaf. : )
ReplyDeleteI like your two choices for the challenge. The emerging chives shows the garden coming to life and the faded leaf a reminder of autumn. It was a little trouper to hold on this long. :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Judith! We have many leaves that never leave the branch until they are pushed off by the new growth! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteOh how good to have your chives popping already. You've inspired me to go looking for mine tomorrow. I have a few tenacious leaves hanging on for dear life.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with the challenge my friend. I like it when the background is blurry. The leaf really pops off the photo! Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou did well - Iike your choices for this challenge.
ReplyDeleteOdd how some leaves, especially oak, hang on for dear life until the new Spring leaves start to push out. I now have a lot more leaves to rake up this weekend, yikes, will they ever stop raining down!
Love the chives popping up from their Winter bed. Are they perennial or did you sew fresh seeds already?
Happy weekend dear Jeanne.
Hugs - Mary
Very nice. I've got a lot to learn with my camera...like doing anything manually!
ReplyDeleteYes, you have had a brutal winter, so I can well imagine your rejoicing when you start to see signs of green life "springing" forth! The first photo almost looks like an abstract. Cool! And the second one demonstrates how tenacious nature can be. Keep having fun and practice with macro because you can feature more of them next month as long that the subjects are colorful!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, I haven't done any macro shots in a very long time. You got me thinking I just might have to take some shots.
ReplyDeleteI too love to see those first green shoots of spring so I can certainly "identify" with your love of seeing those chives! And bless that brave little leaf for clinging on all thorough the nasty winter. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI can see how excited you were when you saw your chives popping up.
ReplyDeleteA lovely macro photo Jeanne - you did well.
I find macro the biggest challenge for me too!
However, I think it's fun to extend ourselves don't you?!
Hugs
Shane
Well, I think you did great! The leaf's colors are super!

These shots are great- the movement in the leaf photo is really graceful and livley- and the chives sprouts are such a sign of spring- exciting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful closeups of nature. I love the chives sprouting from the brown earth - such a hopeful sign of life. They almost look like they are moving!
ReplyDeleteYAY! Spring at last!
ReplyDeleteYour weather is like a bipolar person. Are there any meds that can treat your weather systems?:)
