Snow or Sand

Yesterday I was whining about no snow.
Today I am wishing for sand.

These 4 MP point and shoot shots from Mexico
are helping me cope.

These are from a trip to Ixtapa/Zihauntenejo
a few years ago.

Loving the palms.

Misty morning walk on the beach.

Then Breakfast

Then afternoon walk on the beach after mucho shopping.

End of the day!

Some snow for Pete's sake!

All the storms have missed us.
We have a little sprinkle of snow.
Tha's all...

It's gotten cold and the lakes are freezing now.

We got this goofy sideways snow, it's on the trees but not much on the ground.

I hear it's pretty bad out east.

Ive got to get out this weekend and shoot a few new shots for a New Years post.

I've been out of touch with the Holiday and travel.
I hope everyone is doing well.

Holiday Sunset

This was the scene a few minutes ago driving
into my little subdivision

All week they were reporting major snow.
We got two tenths of an inch!!

I don't get the folks on TV
This is the midwest, it snows here off and on all winter long.
It's never a surprise.
They make such a big deal out of it.

Anyway...

Safe travels to all of you on the move.
Keep your hands off your face so you dont get a cold.
Finish your shopping!
Joy to you

Catproofing

Does this look familier?

Anyone with a cat knows
this is just the begining
She is testing the waters
And me...

(Make sure you click on the picture, you've got to get a look at the grin on this cats face)

Feeling Better

There is nothing like a sweet fur baby
to make one feel better.

Had to take this little sweetie to the vet.
She has a little kitty cold with bubbles coming
out of her nose.
Ah-choo

I have really been out of sorts these
past several days.

I know we all have and I don't want to dwell
on the sadness but...

I'm just not in the mood to do much more
than snuggle with the cat or read something that takes
my mind to a different place.

I will NOT turn on the TV.
The media is out of control.
Shame on them!

Leave those poor people alone and let them
get on with their lives!

Anyway... that's about as mad as I get,
I needed to vent.

Memories

Yesterday
We celebrated Moms 89th birthday.

She is becoming frail and is getting
a bit loopy, but I feel lucky that she is still with us.

She insisted on buying those ugly glasses and wearing
that silly wig instead of her pretty silver hair.
I guess you have to be inside her head to get that part.

Daughters, neices and nephews came from North Carolina,
California, Ohio and Texas to be with their mom/gram.
Good!

I truly hope we get to celebrate 90
Love you Mommy!

Understanding

My heart is breaking for the loved ones of those children and adults that died today.
There are no words, all I can do is pray.
Dear Jesus, put a comforting hand on the hearts of those whose
lives have been shattered by this horrible act of violence.

Comfort them
Give them strength
Be their guiding Light

Question to my blogger buds...
If I enable email, does that mean anyone can see my email address
or just those I follow or where I make comments?
I can't seem to find a clear answer online.

A bit of Ireland

One of the prettiest places in Ireland (weather permitting) is the Dingle Peninsula.
These are some shots taken on my most recent trip.
Every time I look at these I want to go back!!

Cloudy and rainy is not uncommon, makes for lots of rainbows.

Speachless

Almost there, and...

The sun came out!
This vista is just stunning. A photo can't capture it.

Some whimsy in the town of Dingle

This was outside a small art shop

I think they are all Leprechaun's or Hobbits
The delightful colors they use!

Sunday

Sunday was a hazy 60 deg day

I took a ride to Lake Zurich, not far from me,

Got there just in time for a nice golden sunset

I didn't adjust the color here, this is just how it looked.
I guess it was the haze that made it all look gold.

This lake is close to where I shop on Rt 12
so off to Walmart!

Footnote: On my computer at home these shots are golden.
At work they look a bit pink.
I am going to trust the high end monitor at home and hope you see that.
I would be interested in knowing if you see gold or pink.

Shapes

You guys all know how I love odd shapes.
Isn't it amazing how trees grow, how they reach?
I love tree shapes almost as much as I love bug wings!

So, I took my Macro lens out for a spin since the
Wide Angle Zoom is smashed.
Consoled myself with a ride to a nearby lake/park
and took these.
The Oak Trees are stunning without leaves.
Funny thing about these is that the lens was pointed up.
When I pointed straight I got a yellow sunset.
I'll post those tomorrow.

Comfort

It's time for a cat picture

Cross eyed little cutie
Always brings joy!

Special thanks to Donna at Cottage Days and Journeys for putting me on to a quality used camera outlet.
I found just what I was looking for at a good price.
