Good Fences ~ Money to Burn

Even if I could

I don't
 think I would want this

But who's to say what happens to the mind
when there is money to burn.

Taken in Lake Geneva WI
which is a getaway for wealthy Chicagoan's

Seriously... this is a summer home.

  1. Beautiful! Personally, I am glad that some oeople still have money to burn. That set-up employed a lot of people and there may be a landscape gardener employed yet! Besides all that, it sure is lovely. The Brits can't have all the pretty gates and flowers.

  3. Seriously, you've got me thinking! I do enjoy the grand entrance and naturally I'm more than curious on what it looks like behind the fence!

  4. Wow. That's quite ostentatious. Blech. Not something I would want. But we all have our individual tastes and likes. That just looks like a place I wouldn't want to enter without a ball gown. Lol

  5. I have friends who have similar - one family has more homes than they know what to do with as they're scattered about the country, one even overseas - but personally I couldn't be bothered having to concern myself with all that upkeep, even if I did have the money to employ caretakers! Our small house, just 1200 sf, is more than enough for me, especially at this time of life!
Vee - there are some beautiful UK country estates with ornate entrances, but most Brits don't live like that - take my word for it! I grew up there with no central heat and one tiny bathroom, and it was all lovely - but a home is what you make of it, right?

Jeanne, thanks for sharing, and have a fabulous weekend. . . . . knowing you don't have to hire a small army to take care of your property, LOL!

  7. Nope it is not for me. For some reason (I cannot tell why) I find this place ghostly. Great shot though for the meme

  8. A summer home? Uhhhhhhhh, what does their winter home look like? It's gotta be a run-down cabin in the hills, right? LOL

    Pretty tho.

  9. Wow for a "summer" home it sure is fancy! That entrance is quite grand and the flowers are gorgeous. Of course they probably have a professional gardener.

  13. If I had that kind of money, I could find a lot better ways to spend it. The flowers are beautiful, but the fence is a bit much. Kind of "in your face" rich which we have way to much of in this country especially in our politics. But, I will credit you with a wonderful picture ... Nice job, Jeanne
