His Guidance

Mom is still with us but barely. Yes, this is hard, and painful but there is something else...
There is something very intimate and spiritual about this experience for my sister and I.
The turning and bathing and changing.
The little drops of water from a dropper, the gentle wiping of her eyes.
Brushing her hair.
The caresses and comforting, the prayers.
That little glint of appreciation in her eyes. A little sqeeze of the hand.
Moments of recognition.
Knowing if she opens her eyes she will see someone who loves her, right there.
Knowing she is not in pain and whispering to her that it's okay to let go.
Jesus is waiting.

I don't wish to make anyone sad. I just needed to share that this is not all bad.
If you are ever faced with this situation know it is bearable and can be cherished.

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

  2. My heart goes out to you. I remember telling my mom is was okay to let go. Very hard, but like you say, very intimate and spiritual. God bless.

  3. Saying a prayer right now for continued peace and comfort. I am so glad that you and your sister are doing this together. Blessings to you all.

  4. Thinking of you all. Jeanne. Sending love and hugs from here. Beautiful and true words...

  5. May God continue to give all of you strength. And yes, I know...

  6. I've said a prayer for you all. Good that you and your sister are both there for your mom. What a blessing you both must be for her.
I remember being with my dad at the end telling him that Jesus was waiting for him too.
    God bless you all.
