Stone ~ Good Fences

This isn't the sharpest picture
But I wanted to show a stone fence.

I just love how the people in the UK manage their livestock.
It's never muddy and yucky.
The sheep just hang out here and there and the cows rest.
The stone fences don't really keep them in.
They go pretty much where they want to go, including the road.
Funny... I've never seen one run over!

  3. It is much the same in Switzerland ... there are cows everywhere grazing or resting and they all have bells hanging around their necks. The only fences are there to protect the cows from steep drop offs or busy roads. I didn't see any stone fences though ... love yours from the UK ... I'll bet it is pretty old too :)

  4. It's a beautiful scene and you can't help but wonder about the work it took to build such a substantial fence! Enjoy your evening my friend! Hugs!

  10. Yes, the stone fences in England and Scotland are very attractive and I like the stone step stiles they build into the walls as well. The farms are so beautiful there.

  11. A gorgeous scene that would look lovely on the wall, or a postcard to send to family and friends. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
