I had some business in Lake Forest yesterday
So afterward I parked the car and took a walk by the lake.
Little did I know I was breaking the law.
Understand, for those of you unfamiliar with Chicago
The North Shore is where the ultra wealthy live and
Lake Forest is at the top of the heap.
So when I get back to my car I see this sign.
In case you can't read it, the parking fine for non residents is
$125.00
A polite way to say 'Keep Out"
Well, my take on that is, these people pay more in property taxes than most middle class folks make in a year.
I guess they deserve their own beach.
oops! well, glad you didn't get fined, at least.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable. So glad you were able to get a taste of how the other side lives:) Glad you weren't fined. I dislike places like this.
ReplyDeleteStill, everyone should be able to enjoy the scenery!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Glad you didn't get a ticket!
ReplyDeleteI can see your point. Some trespassers cause a lot of trouble. But you weren't really a trespasser with something nefarious in mind. :) (I love the word nefarious. It makes me think of Sylvester the cat.) Anyway, if i was that wealthy, i think i'd want to share the wealth by way of the wonderful scenery and walk. Just my personal 2 cents. To each his/her own.
ReplyDeleteGolly, so it's not a public park area? Good thing you didn't get a ticket! They really ought to have the sign be bigger and clear that it is not a public place.
