I have been totally immersed in the Olympics

and... congratulating my Canadian friends.

I so love Hockey and my consolation is that 

there are quite a few Chicago Black Hawks

 on the Canadian team. 

In Search of A Break!!

This was Monday Morning

Seriously, this picture is tame. 

Visibility was sometimes down to zero.

Fortunately I left work early. 

Today it is 50 deg and they are sandbagging the rivers!

Good Grief!!

So... I've been curled up on the couch

with a cat and a new HD TV watching the Olympics.

I love every bit of it!

Kitty's first day

Yes it's time for kitty pictures.

This was taken the day I brought Abby (Pie) home from the shelter.

She had been living in a cage for weeks.

She was about 9 months old.

I can't believe she is now 7 years old!

I had just moved in and didn't even have rugs and furniture yet.

She walked right in and found...

The most comfortable spot in the house!!

It's bitterly cold but the sun is out!

Street Scenes

I have some really bad habits when taking 

pictures that I need to break.

I don't take the time to assess the light.

Thus, blown out skies.

I know what to do but I'm bad at doing it.

No Patience!

So here are some examples of photos I took that really needed some work to make them look decent.

This is a street in Old San Juan. 

If I hadn't blown out the sky it would be a really cool shot.

I cropped the bottom to take it farther away from me and sharpened.

I lowered the highlights to get as much as I could out the top of this shot. 

Another shot in old San Juan. this one is not blown out as bad but I had to lower the highlights and shadows

I pulled up the contrast a little bit and color saturation.

Also I cropped the sides off to give it more depth.

This is in Ireland

On this one I really went overboard with the highlights and color saturation on purpose.

I like the effect.

A little cropping and enhancing of color here.

This one was a little blurry so I really had to sharpen a lot. 

This is Kenmare in Southwest Ireland.

A kick in the backside!!

How long ago was this!!

Okay... this picture has nothing to do with my post today.

I just couldn't post another picture of snow.

My dilemma, and why I need a kick in the you know what is the 

BUNNY!!

Yes, that cute little bun bun I have fed in the frigid cold.

Well...

There is bunny poop all over my deck. Around the deck

Under the deck. In the snow, under the snow.

You get the picture.

My shrubbery, the parts of it that aren't covered with snow, has been vigorously nibbled and the critter is quite fat. 

I have created a monster.

As soon as the weather breaks I am going to put moth balls under the deck and send that little fatso on its way. 

It's 25 below wind chill here again.

I need a drink!!!

I've been traveling

Although most days were filled with conferences

I did get to dip my toes in the sand

I didn't want to announce to the world

 that I would be gone for a week

But West Palm Beach was very nice and warm. In the glorious 70's

I did rain at the end of the week but it was still warm!

Ahhh... Home Again
