My sister took this picture.
She works at Argonne Nat'l Labratory
For years when we were teens and young adults we believed that the white deer were caused by
some sinister activity at the Lab.
Not so.
They are called Fallow Deer and they were imported here once upon a time
by someone who had an estate nearby.
They originate in Europe and Africa.
They now inhabit the woods near the Lab
Cool huh!
By the way... This is show that fell earlier this week.
I live farther north and we didn't get hit quite as hard.

ReplyDeleteWe have had white deer here occasionally and have also seen and gotten pics of a few brown AND white deer like pinto horse color , pretty amazing to see them.
