Tripped on the attached USB cord and the camera went flying

Fortunately the camra body is unscathed.

The lens is unfixable.

The mothers fur feline is a beautiful, obedient and special cat!

Ceviche

I know the framing of the photo stinks

but the flavor of the subject is fantastic.

I have been messing with the macro lens and it's really fussy indoors without flash.

This is the least blurry shot and I wanted to share my success.

 

I got tired of paying the big bucks for this delicacy

made at a local gourmet food store.

 

It dawned on me, I knew exactly what was in it.

I made my own for 1/4th the cost.

 

Bring crackers!

A Pebble

 

I have been here for a thousand years.

Traveled from the deep to each shore over and over.

The jagged edges being softened in the journey.

 

Lives have come and gone. Wars have waged and ended.

Inventions have changed mankind forever.

I get smoother and smaller.

 

Someday I will be sand.

Something Pretty

 

I was looking through some photos I had stored on my work computer and came up with these

 

 

 

They were taken a while back, before the tree fell.

 

All I did was fiddle with the exposure a bit

and all this color came out.

 

Nature provided the texture.

 

I think they're pretty.

Today

The sky made up for

 any lack of color in the trees today

 

 

I took a drive down an old dirt road in the woods

It couldn't decide to be overcast or sunny.

 

This barn is part of the Forest Preserve District

They house horses and equipment for the veterans that do the

Civil War reenactments.

 

The blue in the sky today was just amazing.

It was windy as hell.

November at the beach has it's own flavor.

 

 

The lake is turning so the water turns grey

 

 

 

Even on calm days there are waves

 

 

There is a beauty to each season.

There is calmness but urgency in this season on the lake.

Even as a child I have always been attracted to

images of a curving path or road going over a hill

The unknown...

I suppose I am not the only one

Why else would great artists photograph and paint these scenes.

and though I did hear many birds, and frogs, this day

I saw few...

My focus was the path.

 

This is a place of reflection for me.

The purest sounds of nature bring

comfort and clarity.
