Lake Michigan

I took a drive to the lake at lunchtime

I don't work far from Lake Michigan

It takes a long cold spell for this lake to freeze

in another month the water will start to turn blue again. 

One of these days I'll take my camera and shoot 

some of the houses near this park. 

If they don't shoot me first!

Wealth beyond your imagination.

It truly is not a life I would want to live but 

it is interesting to see those mansions on the lake.

Not too bad

considering the visibility

I am ready for spring

Last nights commute

There was a haze over the sun that made for this scene.

With all the chatter last week about blown highlights I am now very aware of what happens when I point my camera right at the sun. 

I won't stop doing it though.

This one came out of the cell phone. 

Whimsy

I met this artist (Nedobeck) up in Wisconsin at an art fair in Racine.

It was slow day and we got to talking so he took the picture I bought and started to draw on the back. 

He is a totally sweet, kind human being!!

His whimsical art is just a joy to look at so I can't help but wonder,

where does that come from?

I mean... look at this thing... who thinks that up??

And because I love all things "Cat"

This will be a prized possession.

I truly love water color and I am absolutely no good at it. 

A Change

It's supposed to snow big time tonight. 

We'll see...

Every channel has a different story.

I will just not think about it!

Instead, I am going through my Hawaii pictures 

and it feels nice and warm!

I was going to post a picture of 

this mornings commute but...

I changed my mind

You don't want to see it.

Sideways snow etc.

Instead a couple of photos that clearly depict the weather.

My precious ponds frozen over.

I don't even want to put the garbage out.

Windchill will be way below zero tonight.

Fire

Just down the street about a quarter mile

Is a pretty spring fed lake

It's mostly frozen over now but a nice spot to catch a sunset. 

I took these a few minutes ago.

Winter

Winter is holding on here

We get a day or two in the forties and then 

down to below twenty degrees.

Took these today by the boat launch on Long Lake.

The ice is very unsafe but you will still find 

die hard ice fishermen taking a risk.

I'm gonna stay in the rest of the weekend and read.

Brrrrrrr!!

This is where I hide when mommy is mad at me

I am invisable here

If I do a bad thing like bite or "something else"

Mommy might raise her voice

I wait here until she calls me with a soft voice

then I get petted

but, I thought I would change it up a bit

with a little trip to Key West.

The Neighbors

Just a few minutes from my subdivision is a small farm

with lots of cows

I was out to capture the snow on the trees and 

noticed this lady 

looking at me

It came to my mind she had way too many legs!

Here is the reason why.

A Snowman

Look who I ran into yesterday!

I went out early just as the sun was starting to break through the clouds

I knew once the sun was full out the stuff would 
start melting off the trees fast.

So I headed toward my favorite shopping area and in the process a few spots where I like to take pictures.

I missed the entrance to the park and had to take a detour. 

And there he was!

It was like he just walked out of the woods.

Winter Wishes

I was wishing for snow

This is my commute home today

I took just under three hours

Normal is thirty minutes

Through the windshild

A wonderland

The beauty of God's creations

I could let this just pass by

Or record it

With my cell phone by the way

Here we are, it's dark now

The home stretch.

I'm snug as a bug now and happy I got some real snow!

Amazing what goes on while we sleep!!

Critter Parade.

Finally some snow

I love when there is a cover of snow on the ground out my window. 

I get to see all the critter prints and the view is so pretty.

You can see a few trees were lost in the drought last summer

on the left.

Since I returned from Florida the temps have been very erratic. It was in the 60's and rained for two days and now it is downright frigid. 

Everything is frozen solid with ice. Windows and vents etc.

Hopefully this week it will warm up a bit.
